A League 2 blog with an overwhelmingly pro-Torquay United bias

Tuesday night predictions

Forgot to put my League 2 predictions for tonight on here:

Accrington v Shrewsbury
Stanley have notched up some impressive results lately and have a respectable home record, while Shrewsbury have struggled for both form and goals of late; they haven’t won since they thumped Hereford back in November. While neither side’s run has gone on long enough to make this a foregone conclusion, I reckon that the upwardly-mobile Accrington will edge this one against the stuttering Shrews. Prediction: 2-1

Aldershot v Bradford
Aldershot have scored a solitary goal in each of their last 3 games and they’ve all been netted by Luke Guttridge, who went to the same secondary school as me. That was more trivia than analysis, as is the news that one of Torquay’s BSP playoff heroes Tim Sills today signed for the Shots after being released by Stevenage. Aldershot have a new manager who’s used to winning (and his Wikipedia entry makes for interesting reading) while Bradford remain one of the toughest teams in the division to predict due to their erratic form under Peter Taylor. Prediction: 1-1
